Washington County A Centennial History

WCCH-Continues to be one of the best resources on Bartlesville History, even after fifteen years.
Written by Kenny A. Franks, Paul F. Lambert and Margaret Withers Teague

This book covers early Indian Territory History (later Washington County) up and including Bartlesville’s Centennial celebration in 1997.

The original publication, History of Washington County, by Margaret Withers Teague, (Historian at the Bartlesville Public Library) was published 1967 by the Bartlesville Historical Commission.

In 1997 Franks and Lambert, leaders in Oklahoma history and heritage collaborated to re-do Teague’s 2 volume book and Washington County Centennial History was the end product.

A summation of this volume: “Washington County’s renowned quality of life combines a rich mixture of Native American and Western culture with the cosmopolitan character brought to it by citizens from throughout the United States and the World.”
