The Bartlesville Area History Museum is excited to announce our May “Third Thursday Lunch and Learn” event will be held at Johnstone Park at the site of the Nellie Johnstone Oil Well replica. Feature guest speaker and former education Coordinator, Betty Keim, will give a brief presentation on the history of Nellie Cannon Johnstone and our city’s famous oil well.
Following the presentation, guests will be given a working demonstration of the well, by Dan Droege, as it gushes water! Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch or enjoy light refreshments provided by BAHM.
This event will be held Thursday, May 16th, from 12:00 p.m. – 1 p.m. After the presentation attendees are encouraged to join us back at the museum to enjoy our newest exhibit “Our Oily Past” on display from April 1st through July 1st.
The Museum is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (closed on weekends and holidays) at 401 S. Johnstone Avenue, 5th Floor. Museum entry is free, but donations are always welcome.
