August Lunch & Learn – “Reminiscences of a Southern Girl”

The Bartlesville Area History Museum is excited to announce our “Third Thursday Lunch and Learn” event will feature guest speaker and author, Sarah Winn. Sarah was History Marker of the year in 2015 and was awarded teacher of the year in 1975. After retirement, Sarah and her husband Gene dedicated their time to cataloging all of the Woolaroc library books while operating Media Futures Book Store. She was a founding member of the Word Weavers, past president of Women’s Network, twice past president of Washington Count Retired Educators. She was also a member of the OK Education Association, the Washington County Historical Society, Dewey Classroom Teachers Association and the daughters of the American Revolution.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own lunch or enjoy light refreshments provided by BAHM while Sarah recalls her early memories in Bartlesville. Sarah will provide copies of her book “Reminiscences of a Southern Girl” for the cash sell of $35.00 and  will personally autograph each book sold!

This event will be held Thursday, August 17^th, from 12:00 p.m. – 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy the museum’s newest exhibit “A Century of Education,” on display from July 5^th through September 29^th. Tables and chairs will be set up for people who bring a lunch, and little ones may enjoy our school house coloring station.
