This historic milestone marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence on July 4\, 1776\, an event being called the nation’s Semiquincentennial. From now through July\, the museum will commemorate this once-in-a-generation anniversary with special exhibits\, programs\, and community activities that highlight local stories and the role the Bartlesville area has played in the broader American story. Visitors are invited to explore the past\, celebrate our shared heritage\, and look ahead to the future as the nation marks 250 years of independence.\n\n\nFrom now until July 2nd stop by the museum\, snap a picture at our 250th photo “booth” and tag us on social media for your chance to be entered in a giveaway on July 3rd!!

DESCRIPTION:The Bartlesville Area History Museum is excited to announce In honor of America’s 250th birthday\, the Bartlesville Area History Museum is bringing back one of the town’s most delightfully unusual traditions — a mustache and beard contest inspired by the legendary whiskers of town founder Jacob Bartles. On July 4th at Freedom Fest\, locals and visitors alike are invited to compete in the Great Bartles Mustache Showdown\, Categories including: \nThe “Jacob Bartles” – Best Historical Mustache\, \nThe Frontier Whiskers – Best Beard\, and \nThe Prairie Curl – Best Styled Mustache. \nRegistration is free at the BAHM tent and starts at 6: 15 p.m. Contestants will be judged on creativity\, style\, and sheer frontier spirit! \nGrow it. Curl it. Style it.
